The Battle Is Not Yours

The Battle Is Not Yours

Sorrow not, because of your trials.
Tarry for the Lord, your God,
Anticipate His showing up.
Nigh, is your deliverer.
Draw close to Him.
Yield to His voice.
Exalt His holy name.
Shout with a voice of triumph.
Tell of His wondrous works.
Incline your heart to praise Him.
Lift up your voice,
Lift up your hands,
And bless your God.
Now is the time to rejoice.
Dominion and power is His.
Strong and mighty is He.
Everything is under His authority.
Everything is possible for Him.
Trust in His word.
His wisdom is unsearchable.
Every problem, He can solve.
Submit unto Him,
All of your burdens, your fears.
Look unto Jesus and be saved.
Victory, He secured.
All who trust Him are blessed.
This calamity will soon pass.
If He be for you, who can be against you?
Only, believe.
No weapon formed against you shall prosper.
Order your desire.
Fall on your knees, call on Him.
Trust your life to His care.
He loves you dearly.
Every enemy that opposes you will be disposed of.
Listen, He will be with you always.
Only, have faith in your God.
Rest with hope in the Lord.
Deliverance, He gives to His people.

2 Chronicles 20:15, 17. …Hearken ye…Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed…for the battle is not yours, but God's…Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord

Proper “I” Care

Proper “I” Care

All are encouraged to schedule regular vision exams with Dr. Jesus. He checks our vision via His Word chart which measures our spiritual insight. He helps us recognize pride as the impure matter in our “I’s” that dims spiritual vision hastening spiritual blindness.

Proverbs 11:2NLT Pride leads to disgrace… Proverbs 16:18NLT Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall. Proverbs 29:23aNLT Pride ends in humiliation… Proverbs 15:25aNLT The Lord tears down the house of the proud…

Proper way to cleanse our “I’s” –
“All of you, serve each other in humility, for “God opposes the proud but favors the humble.” So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” 1 Peter 5:5b-7NLT

We should always read what is before us in proper lighting –
Psalm 119:105Mssg By your words I can see where I'm going; they throw a beam of light on my dark path.

We can avoid “I” strain by having the right corrective lenses –
Hebrews 12:2-3Mssg Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!

Not Everything Decreases in Value By What it Goes Through

Not Everything Decreases in Value By What it Goes Through

Sometimes we just need to be reminded!

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?"

Hands started going up.

He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this. He
proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill. He then asked, "Who still wants it?"

Still the hands were up in the air.

Well, he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started
to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty.

"Now, who still wants it?"

Still the hands went into the air...

My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20.

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are
worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you.

The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by WHO WE ARE and WHOSE WE ARE. You are special - Don't EVER forget it."

God loves humanity unconditionally though we all have sinned and fallen short of His expectations. No matter what we have done and no matter what has been done to us. He loves us. We should respond to His love. Love Him back. We should give ourselves to Him, all we have and are. Trust in Jesus as our Savior. He will always be there for us no matter what we have gone through.

FOUR WAYS A CHRISTIAN SHOULD STAND

FOUR WAYS A CHRISTIAN SHOULD STAND
(Written by Minister Sherry Ivy on 5/29/10)

There are times in our lives when we say I have given this situation to God and I’m going to leave it alone and when God don’t come quick enough for us we find ourselves trying to help Him out. When we find ourselves doing this all we can do is stand and let God work them out for us because He can do what we cannot do. “And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” (Luke 18:27) These are just a few of the many ways a Christian should stand:

Stand still - Sometimes we get trapped in the middle of a situation like the Israelites and we don’t know which way we should go or what we should do but one thing we shouldn’t do is let the enemy plant fear in our mind. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7) And we shouldn’t give up we should stand still like Moses told the Israelites and see the salvation of the Lord. “And Moses said unto the people, fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord. Which we will shew you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more for ever.” (Exodus 14:13)

Stand against the wiles of the devil - IN order for us to stand against the wiles of the devil we have to put on the whole Armour of God. We have to be completely armed one or two pieces will not do. The devil knows our weakest points and he aims for them with discouragement, frustration, and confusion. If he cannot get us one way he will try another because we cannot overcome the devices of the devil in our own strength and power. “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:11)

Stand fast in your faith – As children of God we have to be watchful and alert and stand fast in our faith by doing this it will keep our spiritual enemies from slipping in to destroy us. We also have to be strong in the Lord in all that we do. “Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, and be strong.” (1 Corinthians 16:13)

Stand fast in the Liberty of Christ – We have been made free with the cost of the death of Christ, We have liberty in Christ and that liberty is not a rule but a principle. Our conduct should not be to please ourselves or others but to please Christ. So stand fast in the liberty Christ hath made for us and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” (Galatians 5:1)

So be encouraged today and always remember if we stand fast in the Lord we will have joy and receive our crown. “Therefore my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.” (Philippians 4:1)

By the Grace of God

Appraised by Praise

Appraised by Praise

Praise is a thing most hath sought.
A snare wherein some hath been caught.
If thou, by chance, hast been praised,
Thy inner secrets hath not been overlaid.
Praise bringeth out that which is within.
Shewing thou art virtuous or soiled by sin.
If thy heart be pure, praise proveth thee humble.
If thou art swollen in pride, sin maketh thee stumble.
When thou art praised, courteously labour,
To praise the Lord who blesseth thee with favor.

Proverbs 27:21 (The Message) The purity of silver and
gold is tested by putting them in the fire; The purity of
human hearts is tested by giving them a
little fame.
Proverbs 27:21 (NIV) The crucible for silver
and the furnace for gold, but man is tested by
the praise he receives.

A Lifetime of Loving You

A Lifetime of Loving You

My love,
You are a prize rich and replete,
Burgeoning with grace, sensibly unique.
You are sweet, talented, and unpretentious,
As, you are tough, nurturing, and conscientious.
I praise God for the gift of your person and love.
He tied our knot with His hand from up above.
As our story of romance launches into a new chapter,
Whatever comes, let us live amid love and laughter.
Whether valleys or mountain peaks be ahead of us,
Together, let us conquer, whatsoever is before us.
This is my prayer to God concerning you,
I pray to spend my lifetime loving you…
Your Husband…

Relish life with the spouse you love Each and every day of your precarious life.
Ecclesiastes 9:9 (The Message)

Lost Touch

Lost Touch

One touch can be lovely, soul stirring.
Yet at other times off-putting, line blurring.
A touch can be soothing and reassuring,
Delightfully memorable or painfully enduring.
Humanity longs for the touch of another,
A mother, a baby, a friend, a lover.
One blessed touch is better than no touch at all.
Yet, a lost touch is a cruel event that can befall,
No visit, no call, no blessed answer, “Hello.”
One you knew well, you, now, no longer know.
Lovers estranged; friends, families divided apart.
No touch by a loving hand, disconnected at the heart.
When ‘unembraced’, an individuals’ inmost being cries.
Sadder still, when without a touch, that person dies.

Take the time; make the effort to maintain the embrace of those you love. To lose touch is tragic. Man lost touch with God. For love, Jesus sacrificed Himself to reconnect us with God. Are you in touch with Jesus?

Blaze Your Trail

Blaze Your Trail

Blaze your blessed trail, trailblazer.
Despite your trials, blaze your trail.
Blaze your trail with great toil.
Whether with joy or tears, blaze your trail.
Blaze your trail, in famine or prosperity.
In the face of tormentors, blaze your trail.
Blaze your trail, undervalued or misunderstood.
Cease not to blaze your trail.
Blaze your trail, ‘til you hear, “Well done!”
Trailblazer, blaze your blessed trail.

Exalt and Entreat the Lord, Envision, Expect, Embark…

Acts 20:24 (New Living Translation)
But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.

The Old Paths

THE OLD PATHS

I liked the old paths, when
Moms were at home.
Dads were at work.
Brothers went into the army.
And sisters got married BEFORE having children!

Crime did not pay;
Hard work did;
And people knew the difference.

Moms could cook;
Dads would work;
Children would behave.

Husbands were loving;
Wives were supportive;
And children were polite.

Women wore the jewelry;
And Men wore the pants.
Women looked like ladies;
Men looked like gentlemen;
And children looked decent.

People loved the truth,
And hated a lie;
They came to church to get IN,
Not to get OUT!

Hymns sounded Godly;
Sermons sounded helpful;
Rejoicing sounded normal.

Cursing was wicked;
Drugs were for illness
The flag was honored;
America was beautiful;
And God was welcome!

To be called an American was worth dying for;
To be called a Christian was worth living for;
To be called a traitor was a shame!

Preachers preached because they had a message;
And Christians rejoiced because they had the VICTORY!
Preachers preached from the Bible;
Singers sang from the heart;
And sinners turned to the Lord to be SAVED!

A new birth meant a new life;
Salvation meant a changed life;
Following Christ led to eternal life.

Being a preacher meant you proclaimed the word of God;
Being a deacon meant you would serve the Lord;
Being a Christian meant you would live for Jesus;
And being a sinner meant someone was praying for you!

God was worshiped;
Christ was exalted;
And the Holy Spirit was respected..

I still like the old paths the best!

'The Old Paths' was written by a retired minister who lives
In Tennessee.
