As He Said

As He conveyed,
He came to redeem humanity who strayed.
As He preached,
His potent word repaired the bond that sin had breached.
As He proclaimed,
He healed those sin had maimed.
As He asserted,
In His hour, His disciples left Him deserted.
As He pronounced,
By His own people, He was renounced.
As He maintained
A shameful scourging He sustained.
As He prophesied,
Out of love on the cross He died.
As He contended,
His mission was not ended.
As He foretold,
The grave would not, could not hold.
As He said,
He rose from the dead.
As He declared,
They, who trust the Gospel, at judgment, shall be spared.

Matthew 28: 5. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. 6. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. 7. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
