He Went the Distance

He Went the Distance

Out of eternity,
He stepped into time.
The Author of creativity—
Shepherded in a new paradigm.
From glory to bridge the gap,
He descended the depth,
To free us from sin’s death trap,
Revive our soul to eternal health.
He graced the virgin’s womb,
Dignifying, in love, lowly humanity,
To deliver us from certain doom,
Steer us back to sacred sanity.
Birthed to be belittled, betrayed,
Beaten, and crucified in our stead.
Our debt, with His blood, He paid.
He hung on the cross ‘til declared dead.
On our behalf, buried for three days,
Yet, triumphantly, He rose from the grave.
Let us render unto Jesus glorious praise.
For us, He went the distance to save.

We fell short when His will we forsook.
For love, to save us, He did what it took.
He went the distance.

And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of My people…and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; and I am come down to deliver them… Exodus 3:7-8a

The Christmas Presence

The Christmas Presence

For love, at Christmas, He came,
A babe, heralded a Savior, a King.
The Christ, the Repairer of the breach.
From Heaven, He descended,
To lift us up from our low estate.
His right hand extended its reach,
To alleviate our souls’ ails,
Hearten those without hope,
Alter the ending of our life’s tale,
Emancipate sin’s prisoners,
Mend what had been broken...
What shall we then say?
Hallelujah! Our salvation is come—
Jesus Christ, our Lord, our King!
God with us—granting life, His glorious forte…

The caring Heavenly Father’s present to humanity–
The Son to manifest His loving presence…
A present we should all cherish more–
His and one another’s presence…

…name Him Jesus–'God saves'–because He will save His people from their sins. This would bring the prophet's embryonic sermon to full term: Watch for this–a virgin will get pregnant and bear a son; They will name Him Immanuel (Hebrew for "God is with us"). Matthew 1:21b:23MSG

Be Still…

Be Still…

Be still my heart,
Though my troubles be many,
My Lord promised to be with me and take my part.

Be still my feet,
Though strong enemies surround me,
At my God’s word they will all go down in defeat.

Be still my hands,
Though they wound me heartlessly,
I shall remember that vengeance is in my God’s hands.

Be still my voice,
Though the wicked talk of me unwisely,
My God shall put them to silence, for I am His choice.

Be still my mind,
Though chaos close in around me,
God is my strong Deliverer from all snares that bind.

Be still my soul,
Though my life seems as pieces of a broken dream,
Through my God’s love and power, I shall emerge whole.

Be still, I must,
Though uncertainty be before me,
God is my helper; He shall take care of me; He is my trust.

Be Still…

Psalm 46:10-11AMP Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth! The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our Refuge (our High Tower and Stronghold). Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

Praise God with Thanksgiving for Christmas

Praise God with Thanksgiving for Christmas

You can have thanksgiving with no turkey and no other trim.
You can have Christmas without a tree over pretty presents, abrim.
If you consider the tiny treasure wrapped in swaddling clothes,
That grew and gave Himself so humanity could be free and whole.
A wonderful grace gift to all mankind adorned Calvary’s tree,
Wrapped in precious crimson blood for you and for me.
A tree, He made, bore Him for our sin debt He paid out of love.
So, in thanksgiving for Christmas, let us praise the Father above.

You may have and take pleasure in your merry Xmas.
As for me, my joy is in Jesus, the heart of my Christmas.

Luke 2:10-14NLT …the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.” Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying, “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”

Heavenly Hues

Heavenly Hues

The beauty of fall’s heavenly hues,
Marvelously chase away the blues.
The landscape discards its green cover,
Baring multicolored gifts to discover.
The Master’s exquisite artistic flair,
Excels, vividly stroked with care.
How amazing, in the midst of death,
Life’s metamorphosis takes your breath.
Praise God, graphic designer of creation,
Who devises wondrous transformation.
Take a stroll; savor the superb views,
The beauty of fall’s heavenly hues.

O Lord, how many and varied are Your works!
In wisdom have You made them all;
the earth is full of Your riches…

Live Life…

Life beckons you to live,
Come.
Come as you are,
Breathe.
Breathe life in, savor it,
Digest.
Digest life’s essentials,
Grow.
Grow in standing,
Discern.
Discern, good from evil,
Learn.
Learn to do well,

Thinking of You…

Thinking of You…

To the one I love,
How blessed am I to be
Interlaced in your embrace!
No other place I desire to be than
Knotted in love with you.
Imagining, me without you,
Necessitates an earnest request.
God, I thank you for my love.
Only, keep us as one, joyful and blest,
Faithful to You, and each other.”
Your love is a gift, I treasure,
Ordained of God, to my pleasure.
United forever, I am lovingly yours…

Thinking of You…

Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
I thank my God upon every remembrance of you…

I am Becoming…

I am Becoming…

I’m not what I should be,
For my defects deterred me.
I’m better than what I used to be,
For Jesus laid His hands on me.
He’s making me what I ought to be,
Perfecting and maturing me.
I’m not all that I’m going to be.
So be careful, how you judge me.
I may not be all you want me to be.
But, know the Lord is yet refining me.
I pray you’ll become all you can be.
And you, likewise, pray for me.

I am Becoming…

I've gotta be me.

Philippians 1:6Amp
And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.

When the Wind Blows

When the Wind Blows...

When the wind blows as a heavenly breeze,
Our soul, in sumptuous delight, rests at ease.
The wind of the Spirit satisfies our soul’s pleas.

When the wind blows, there is revelation,
Illuminating secret matters veiled in isolation.
As the dust settles, out, comes, key information.

When the wind blows, it brings change.
The symphonies of our lives rearrange,
Swaying us to move to new rhythms, strange.

When the wind blows, it grants opportunity,
To praise God who answered our importunity,
In Calvary’s currents that crafted new community.

When the wind blows, it awakens jubilation,
In weary travelers in ships on the sea of desolation.
The fresh wind of the Spirit in your sails highlights salvation.

Anoint afresh, revive us, Holy Spirit. Let Your winds blow…

Acts 2:1-4(MSG)
When the Feast of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Without warning there was a sound like a strong wind, gale force—no one could tell where it came from. It filled the whole building. Then, like a wildfire, the Holy Spirit spread through their ranks, and they started speaking in a number of different languages as the Spirit prompted them.

Providence, Suffered It Not to Be

Providence, Suffered It Not to Be

Though one may dream, there’s no guarantee,
That the dream one dreams will be reality.
Men imagine being all they could be,
Going far, flying high, living free.
But, providence, suffered it not to be.

A few have been as gifted as can be,
Bursting at the seams with ability.
Adored by hordes with hearts of glee,
Anointed the next great one of destiny,
But, providence, suffered it not to be.

Some can-do people in pursuit of possibility,
Toil wholly for the sake of their posterity,
To bring about better opportunity,
So their seed will rise above the ills of society.
But, providence, suffered it not to be.

Many falter on the faint hope of celebrity,
Taking the shady route to prosperity.
Conjuring up capers, conceiving incorrectly,
That winning at all costs trumps doing justly.
But, providence, suffered it not to be.

To the shooting stars on the way to glory,
Beware of the black holes of adversity.
You may desire a life as a fairytale story,
But pray, “Lord, Your will be done for me.”
Just in case, providence, suffers it not to be.

Make it a habit to say, "If the Master wills it and we're still alive, we'll do this or that."
James 4:15MSG

Community

Community

Common unity…
One Maker of all…
Different, but the same…
Many colors, one portrait…
Contrasting opportunity, like needs…
Opponents, yet friends, coworkers and neighbors…
Multiple choices, comparable desires…
Many backgrounds, one future…
Distinct voices, one choir…
Diverse, but one…
One blood…

Community

Citizens doing their part, making
Opportunity for all people to
Maximize their potential.
Marshalling resources to sustain
Underserved populations.
Networking as one,
Imagining and achieving
Together for the benefit of all,
Yielding, responsibly to each others needs.

Get up, get out, and do something. Make your community better, brighter!!!
Strive independently, little success, working together, much success…

Marketing 101

Marketing 101

When you endeavor to promote,
Be sure you are striking the right note.
That, which you audaciously frame,
Most often declares your aim.
Whether your bosom, your butt,
The shameless swagger in your strut…
When you explicitly put it out there,
Why are you surprised when people glare?
I know you're all grown-up, now,
And don’t need folk to tell you when or how.
But that which you show,
Usually tells people what you want them to know.
As an alternative, let radiate your intellect.
Show your unique elegance with self-respect.
Express yourself, but do it right,
So others may be blessed by your virtuous light.

Style with good taste,
Let your flavor yield enduring, uplifting savor…

1 Timothy 2:9-10NLT And I want women to be modest in their appearance. They should wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes. For women who claim to be devoted to God should make themselves attractive by the good things they do.

I. O. U.

I. O. U.

You’ve been there since day one.
Beaming over me, like the radiant sun.
In your arms tenderly cradling me,
For joy, you lovingly labeled me.
You comforted me, when I would weep.
Sweetly you sang, rocking me to sleep.
You left everyday to go forth, to strive,
To meet the needs that kept us alive.
You did well, I am healthy and grown.
When time won’t allow you be on your own,
Fear not being forsaken, left all alone.
It will be my turn to encourage and embrace,
My blessing to wipe tears from your face.
To care for your needs as you did for me,
To help you live with grace and dignity.
As a parent, you did for me the best you could.
May God help me do my best for you, as I should.

Don’t Flirt with Disaster

Don’t Flirt with Disaster

Did you say “I do” at the altar stand?
Is your finger graced by a wedding band?
Your wedding vow, did you understand?
Then, flirt not with disaster.

Believe your spouse to be your one true love?
Believe your union to be a gift from above?
Believe you’re the one your spouse should be thinking of?
Then, flirt not with disaster.

Some say there is nothing wrong with being a flirt.
But a straying heart will in due course feel the hurt.
When your family is gone you’ll feel like dirt.
So, flirt not with disaster.

Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled…

Is it Love?

Is it Love?

Love can be rather precarious,
If one knows not what love is.
Are you in love or are you in lust?
One perseveres, the other goes bust.
Are you infatuated or just fascinated?
Know before your heart gets deflated.
Love is more than a mere emotion,
More about action, than a giddy notion.
A devoted love leaps into harm’s way.
Faithful love guards against going astray.
Real love is in it for the long haul,
Weathers life’s storms, big or small.
It looks past the worst to find the best.
It’s passionate, rewarding, and at rest.
Authentic, soul deep love matures.
When all else fails, true love endures.

Is it Love?

Love Never Fails…

One

One

The sun, moon, planets, and stars make one.
Let us be one.
The mind, the body, and the soul make one.
Let us be one.
A Father, a mother, a daughter, a son make one.
Let us be one.
Tiny communities, small towns, and big cities make one.
Let us be one.
Light, dark, or whatever our shade we were made from one.
Let us be one.
The Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit all make one.
Let us be one.
The Son is one with the Father, the Father one with the Son.
Let us be one.
To be one with the Father, we must be one with the Son.
Let us be one.
To be one with each other, we must be one in the Son.
Let us be one.
With God and each other, united forever, let us be one…

One

Let us be one by Solidarity with the SAVIOR – Let us be one!

John 17:20-23 (The Message)
I'm praying not only for them But also for those who will believe in Me Because of them and their witness about Me. The goal is for all of them to become one heart and mind—Just as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, So they might be one heart and mind with Us. Then the world might believe that You, in fact, sent Me. The same glory You gave Me, I gave them, So they'll be as unified and together as We are— I in them and You in Me. Then they'll be mature in this oneness, And give the godless world evidence That You've sent Me and loved them In the same way You've loved Me.

Expressions of Face

Expressions of Face

In your face, at times your biography is read,
The mood of your heart, thoughts in your head.

In your face, a sad countenance with tears
Exposes inner struggle, suffering, and fears.

In your face, as through a window pane,
A sunny view within, shall outwardly reign.

If upon your face, there be a smile,
If deceitful, it will last only a little while.

If upon your face, there be masking make-up,
Know that what lies beneath cannot always be covered up.

If upon your face, you accentuate your conceit,
Humiliation will in time teach you to be more discreet.

Written all over your face, is your Creator’s semblance.
Only let your heart mirror His to show a true resemblance.

Written all over your face, is the Lord’s wondrous grace.
Your distinctive features, His, own, hand did trace.

Written all over your face, is God’s personal touch,
Proving His intimate care, that He loves you very much.

Seek God’s face at the blessed onset of each new day.
Love Him, thank Him, ask Him to guide your way.

Seek God’s face when your soul is burdened down.
He is your shield, glory, and lifter when you are cast down.

Seek God’s face through Jesus, salvation’s door.
And with joy, you shall behold Him face to face forevermore.

Psalm 17:15 (Amplified Bible)As for me, I will continue beholding Your face in righteousness (rightness, justice, and right standing with You); I shall be fully satisfied, when I awake [to find myself] beholding Your form [and having sweet communion with You].

Beloved, I pray your face expresses the true joy of knowing and beholding
Christ, your Savior, as you await the promise of a glorious eternity, where frowns and sad countenances are banished forever for there will be no reason to frown nor be sad.

Be Godly Wise

Grasp knowledge in a firm embrace.
Open your eyes, your mind, your heart...
Discover, distinguish, deliberate…
Learn understanding at your best pace.
Your expression will radiate grace.
Wisdom brightens the face.
Insight is best, however, with humility.
Skillfulness shackled with pride,
Earnestly, will lead to your disgrace.

Ecclesiastes 8:1 (NLT) How wonderful to be wise, to analyze and interpret things. Wisdom lights up a person’s face, softening its harshness.

1 Corinthians 8:1-2 (The Message) We sometimes tend to think we know all we need to know to answer these kinds of questions—but sometimes our humble hearts can help us more than our proud minds. We never really know enough until we recognize that God alone knows it all.

Proverbs 9:10, 12a. (The Message) Skilled living gets its start in the Fear-of-God, insight into life from knowing a Holy God. Live wisely and wisdom will permeate your life…

Do your thing,
That thing God birthed you to do.

Do it without fail.
Do it well.
Do your thing.

Do your thing.
Do it right.
Do it with all your might.
Do it with humility,

Though enemies and obstacles be vast,
God’s purposes for you, in you will come to pass.

Though the peak you must climb be high.

A Preacher

A Preacher

Father, I thank Thee for choosing mere me,
To go into the world to preach for Thee.
To tell a dying world of Thy beloved Son,
And the valiant victory over sin, He won.
May I ever preach in the power of Thy Spirit,
Rightly, declaring Thy truth, so all may hear it.
To preach Jesus, the living word of the holy text,
So liberty may come to weary souls sin-vexed.
Keep me from the evil snares of glitz and glam,
That my labor be not a perverse sham.
Help me bear my cross, live what I proclaim,
So I would bring honor to Thy name.
And as I suffer for Thy righteous cause,
May I never cease to preach, never pause;
But, endeavor ‘til my death, to wholly, faithful be,
Then rest from my toil in Thy midst for eternity.

Amen…

Needing Him more and more…

The Battle Is Not Yours

The Battle Is Not Yours

Sorrow not, because of your trials.
Tarry for the Lord, your God,
Anticipate His showing up.
Nigh, is your deliverer.
Draw close to Him.
Yield to His voice.
Exalt His holy name.
Shout with a voice of triumph.
Tell of His wondrous works.
Incline your heart to praise Him.
Lift up your voice,
Lift up your hands,
And bless your God.
Now is the time to rejoice.
Dominion and power is His.
Strong and mighty is He.
Everything is under His authority.
Everything is possible for Him.
Trust in His word.
His wisdom is unsearchable.
Every problem, He can solve.
Submit unto Him,
All of your burdens, your fears.
Look unto Jesus and be saved.
Victory, He secured.
All who trust Him are blessed.
This calamity will soon pass.
If He be for you, who can be against you?
Only, believe.
No weapon formed against you shall prosper.
Order your desire.
Fall on your knees, call on Him.
Trust your life to His care.
He loves you dearly.
Every enemy that opposes you will be disposed of.
Listen, He will be with you always.
Only, have faith in your God.
Rest with hope in the Lord.
Deliverance, He gives to His people.

2 Chronicles 20:15, 17. …Hearken ye…Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed…for the battle is not yours, but God's…Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord

Proper “I” Care

Proper “I” Care

All are encouraged to schedule regular vision exams with Dr. Jesus. He checks our vision via His Word chart which measures our spiritual insight. He helps us recognize pride as the impure matter in our “I’s” that dims spiritual vision hastening spiritual blindness.

P-oisonous
R-esidue
I-nternally
D-raining
E-ssence

Proverbs 11:2NLT Pride leads to disgrace… Proverbs 16:18NLT Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall. Proverbs 29:23aNLT Pride ends in humiliation… Proverbs 15:25aNLT The Lord tears down the house of the proud…

Proper way to cleanse our “I’s” –
“All of you, serve each other in humility, for “God opposes the proud but favors the humble.” So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” 1 Peter 5:5b-7NLT

We should always read what is before us in proper lighting –
Psalm 119:105Mssg By your words I can see where I'm going; they throw a beam of light on my dark path.

We can avoid “I” strain by having the right corrective lenses –
Hebrews 12:2-3Mssg Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!

Not Everything Decreases in Value By What it Goes Through

Not Everything Decreases in Value By What it Goes Through

Sometimes we just need to be reminded!

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?"

Hands started going up.

He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this. He
proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill. He then asked, "Who still wants it?"

Still the hands were up in the air.

Well, he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started
to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty.

"Now, who still wants it?"

Still the hands went into the air...

My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20.

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are
worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you.

The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by WHO WE ARE and WHOSE WE ARE. You are special - Don't EVER forget it."

God loves humanity unconditionally though we all have sinned and fallen short of His expectations. No matter what we have done and no matter what has been done to us. He loves us. We should respond to His love. Love Him back. We should give ourselves to Him, all we have and are. Trust in Jesus as our Savior. He will always be there for us no matter what we have gone through.

FOUR WAYS A CHRISTIAN SHOULD STAND

FOUR WAYS A CHRISTIAN SHOULD STAND
(Written by Minister Sherry Ivy on 5/29/10)

There are times in our lives when we say I have given this situation to God and I’m going to leave it alone and when God don’t come quick enough for us we find ourselves trying to help Him out. When we find ourselves doing this all we can do is stand and let God work them out for us because He can do what we cannot do. “And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” (Luke 18:27) These are just a few of the many ways a Christian should stand:

Stand still - Sometimes we get trapped in the middle of a situation like the Israelites and we don’t know which way we should go or what we should do but one thing we shouldn’t do is let the enemy plant fear in our mind. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7) And we shouldn’t give up we should stand still like Moses told the Israelites and see the salvation of the Lord. “And Moses said unto the people, fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord. Which we will shew you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more for ever.” (Exodus 14:13)

Stand against the wiles of the devil - IN order for us to stand against the wiles of the devil we have to put on the whole Armour of God. We have to be completely armed one or two pieces will not do. The devil knows our weakest points and he aims for them with discouragement, frustration, and confusion. If he cannot get us one way he will try another because we cannot overcome the devices of the devil in our own strength and power. “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:11)

Stand fast in your faith – As children of God we have to be watchful and alert and stand fast in our faith by doing this it will keep our spiritual enemies from slipping in to destroy us. We also have to be strong in the Lord in all that we do. “Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, and be strong.” (1 Corinthians 16:13)

Stand fast in the Liberty of Christ – We have been made free with the cost of the death of Christ, We have liberty in Christ and that liberty is not a rule but a principle. Our conduct should not be to please ourselves or others but to please Christ. So stand fast in the liberty Christ hath made for us and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” (Galatians 5:1)

So be encouraged today and always remember if we stand fast in the Lord we will have joy and receive our crown. “Therefore my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.” (Philippians 4:1)

By the Grace of God

Appraised by Praise

Appraised by Praise

Praise is a thing most hath sought.
A snare wherein some hath been caught.
If thou, by chance, hast been praised,
Thy inner secrets hath not been overlaid.
Praise bringeth out that which is within.
Shewing thou art virtuous or soiled by sin.
If thy heart be pure, praise proveth thee humble.
If thou art swollen in pride, sin maketh thee stumble.
When thou art praised, courteously labour,
To praise the Lord who blesseth thee with favor.

Proverbs 27:21 (The Message) The purity of silver and
gold is tested by putting them in the fire; The purity of
human hearts is tested by giving them a
little fame.
Proverbs 27:21 (NIV) The crucible for silver
and the furnace for gold, but man is tested by
the praise he receives.

A Lifetime of Loving You

A Lifetime of Loving You

My love,
You are a prize rich and replete,
Burgeoning with grace, sensibly unique.
You are sweet, talented, and unpretentious,
As, you are tough, nurturing, and conscientious.
I praise God for the gift of your person and love.
He tied our knot with His hand from up above.
As our story of romance launches into a new chapter,
Whatever comes, let us live amid love and laughter.
Whether valleys or mountain peaks be ahead of us,
Together, let us conquer, whatsoever is before us.
This is my prayer to God concerning you,
I pray to spend my lifetime loving you…
Your Husband…

Relish life with the spouse you love Each and every day of your precarious life.

Lost Touch

Lost Touch

One touch can be lovely, soul stirring.
Yet at other times off-putting, line blurring.
A touch can be soothing and reassuring,
Delightfully memorable or painfully enduring.
Humanity longs for the touch of another,
A mother, a baby, a friend, a lover.
One blessed touch is better than no touch at all.
Yet, a lost touch is a cruel event that can befall,
No visit, no call, no blessed answer, “Hello.”
One you knew well, you, now, no longer know.
Lovers estranged; friends, families divided apart.
No touch by a loving hand, disconnected at the heart.
When ‘unembraced’, an individuals’ inmost being cries.
Sadder still, when without a touch, that person dies.

Take the time; make the effort to maintain the embrace of those you love. To lose touch is tragic. Man lost touch with God. For love, Jesus sacrificed Himself to reconnect us with God. Are you in touch with Jesus?

Blaze Your Trail

Blaze Your Trail

Blaze your blessed trail, trailblazer.
Despite your trials, blaze your trail.
Blaze your trail with great toil.
Whether with joy or tears, blaze your trail.
Blaze your trail, in famine or prosperity.
In the face of tormentors, blaze your trail.
Blaze your trail, undervalued or misunderstood.
Cease not to blaze your trail.
Blaze your trail, ‘til you hear, “Well done!”
Trailblazer, blaze your blessed trail.

The Old Paths

THE OLD PATHS

I liked the old paths, when
Moms were at home.
Dads were at work.
Brothers went into the army.
And sisters got married BEFORE having children!

Crime did not pay;
Hard work did;
And people knew the difference.

Moms could cook;
Dads would work;
Children would behave.

Husbands were loving;
Wives were supportive;
And children were polite.

Women wore the jewelry;
And Men wore the pants.
Women looked like ladies;
Men looked like gentlemen;
And children looked decent.

People loved the truth,
And hated a lie;
They came to church to get IN,
Not to get OUT!

Hymns sounded Godly;
Sermons sounded helpful;
Rejoicing sounded normal.

Cursing was wicked;
Drugs were for illness
The flag was honored;
America was beautiful;
And God was welcome!

To be called an American was worth dying for;
To be called a Christian was worth living for;
To be called a traitor was a shame!

Preachers preached because they had a message;
And Christians rejoiced because they had the VICTORY!
Preachers preached from the Bible;
Singers sang from the heart;
And sinners turned to the Lord to be SAVED!

A new birth meant a new life;
Salvation meant a changed life;
Following Christ led to eternal life.

Being a preacher meant you proclaimed the word of God;
Being a deacon meant you would serve the Lord;
Being a Christian meant you would live for Jesus;
And being a sinner meant someone was praying for you!

God was worshiped;
Christ was exalted;
And the Holy Spirit was respected..

I still like the old paths the best!

The Queen of Nobility

Gone to heaven is the Queen
Into a court wonderfully pristine
Now forever to reign in glory
Alive in an ambiance most celebratory

Graciousness adorned her
Intelligence crowned her
Nurturing in her disposition
Affability won her recognition

Gone, yet her mark remains
Ingrained in hearts
No one can replace
Alleluia to God for her life

Are You There Yet?

Are You There Yet?

Have you arrived yet,
On your glorious trip with your child?
Are you on the fabulous freeway
That leads to a lifetime of interchange.
At hand and attentive in steering them
Along the trying on-ramp of inner change?
Have you shown life’s road signs of real love,
Signaling in all honesty, that you truly care?
“How?” you ask. Just by being there!
Being there in word proven with action,
Being there to exemplify true compassion.
Being there to inspire and sincerely relate.
Being there to responsibly alert and educate,
Being there as parent to nurture and guide.
Being there with all your heart,
Doing your best to make the most of the ride,
Trusting Jesus, knowing He will help you whatever betides.
Have you reached one of the most prized destinations there is,
Your child’s precious heart?

They need to know how to deal with people or situations that vex. They need appropriate knowledge about sex. They need to know to avoid people or behavior that will drag them under. They need to know God and that He is able to deliver them from anyone or anything that would seem to break them asunder.

Ephesians 6:4 (NLT) Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.

No Time for Hating Haters

No Time for Hating Haters

There are those around about you
Who harbor animosity and doubt you.
They remember you from around the way.
They remember you from back in the day.
They sense a fresh new flow from you.
That blesses others who see and hear you.
They simply cannot seem to understand,
Accusing you of using slyness of hand.
Reviling you whenever on whatever they can,
Saying, “He wants folks to join his petty band.”
Nevertheless, you know that is not really real.
Your heart is fixed on just doing God’s will.
Even though, to others it is a bitter pill
For God to use you to them is unreal.
Don’t you dare stop to play petty games,
With haters who attack your righteous aims.
Keep stepping up for the cause of your Lord,
Reconciling the lost to Jesus, bringing accord.
Let the haters know you do not have time to play,
By being steadfast in what God told you to do and say.

You have no time for haters except to pray, do good, bless, and love them anyway. You keep your heart, your mind, your body, your whole being moving towards heaven’s way.

Luke 21:17-19 (Amplified Bible) And you will be hated (despised) by everyone because [you bear] My name and for its sake. But not a hair of your head shall perish. By your steadfastness and patient endurance you shall win the true life of your souls.

I Am Somebody

I Am Somebody

I am somebody
A unique individual
Bursting with ability and potential
My life has significance
Each day marked by making some difference

I am somebody
With a vivacious imagination
With hopes, dreams, and Godly aspirations
In difficulty I overcome
I press to attain the optimum outcome

I am somebody
Striving to be just in disposition
Flawed, yet making the mature transition
I value the good in others
And, aim to help all love their soul brothers

I am somebody
Others may disagree
Some see only what they want to see
Despite their interpretation
I look to what God says of me for clarification

I am somebody
Sunk once by sin’s disgrace
Now raised, renewed by God’s amazing grace
Once lost and wretched
Yet, now saved and forever blessed.

I am somebody
A servant of Jesus, my Lord
Preaching His Gospel and the peace it affords
A purveyor of God’s will, God’s way
In my behavior and through the words I say

I am somebody
In the likeness of God, my Creator
In Spirit like His Son-Jesus, my Savior
Who confirmed His love for me
He loved me so much He died that I might be free

I Am Somebody

A Savior sought, blood bought, Spirit wrought child of God…

When one is defriended,

You lament it has ended.
But, may your joy be amended,

My Mama’s Boy

My Mama’s Boy

I must confess. I thank God for my Mama. I love my Mama. By the grace of God, my Mama has been there for me since my beginning. I was her firstborn. She held me. She fed me. She taught me. She disciplined me. She loved me. For forty plus years, she has been there encouraging, chastising, and just being my Mama.

Mama has always been firm in her convictions. She spared not the rod of discipline. My brother and I had assigned chores to do. We had godly standards to live by. What she asked of us, she demonstrated herself. I am awed by how she held up. I am grateful to God for being her stronghold.

In my family’s trials, she was the rock, the purchasing agent and the executive chef. She medicated and mended as the doctor, and was guidance counselor and peacemaker. She put on the brave face. She looked at the positive side of things and taught us to be ever thankful. Whatever was needed she tried to get it done with dignity and grace.

She has endured so many trials. Heartache and pain have seemed to be always at her heals. Her father committed suicide when she was in her twenties. Though hurt, she kept walking by faith. Subsequently, her mother was weighed down with decades of depression and distressing behavior, making Mama to all intents and purposes mother to all her siblings and in many ways mother to her own mother. She bore her burdens in the heat of the day, knowing that the Lord would make away. She had hard trials, sleepless nights on pillows damp with tears, but God helped her make headway.

Daddy was in the home, grown in age, but long in the process of growing up. Mama did not run out, nor run away. She prayed and she waited. She waited and she prayed-calling on God to touch daddy’s heart and turn his life around. She called on God to touch my brother and me that we would be and do differently in our lives. She stood on the word of God and trusted God to make everything all right. God heard and answered. I was grown and gone, but Mama persevered to see God bring her prayers to fruition.

I can testify that my Daddy is being the man, now, that God is pleased with. He loves His wife. He is there for her, providing for her. She is his queen. He has a fruitful relationship with God and his marriage is fruitful because of it.

The time was ripe for us to draw nearer to each other. In 2008, my only sibling, my baby brother, died without warning of a massive heart attack at the age of thirty-seven. It was another blow for Mama, one that hit us all hard. We got through it together, just as a family should. I had the hard task of preaching the funeral. In spite of the burden, God helped me bear up and that buoyed my family, just as Mama had done for so long for us.

Daddy and I have grown closer together. We both serve God. I respect him as my Daddy and am grateful for how God has and is blessing and using him. I look like him and some would say I am stubborn like him, too. Still, my Mama and I have a special relationship. Tears, time, and trials wrought with the love of God has blessed it so. I am proud to be my Mama’s boy.

I encourage you to love and honor your mother for whatever good she has brought to your life.

Are You Into Prosperity?

Are You Into Prosperity?

Are you into prosperity-the condition of enjoying wealth, success, or good fortune?

Then, surely, you are into:

P-ooling
R-esources
O-ffering
S-upport
P-romoting
E-ducation
R-einforcing
I-deals
T-ransforming
Y-our world…

Good Christians transform their world by reinforcing Godly ideals in all aspects of life; promoting education of who God is and inspiring men to educate themselves for a better quality of life for them, their families, and their communities. Good Christians offer support to the least of these, pooling resources of time, talents, and treasures to carry out God’s will of lifting up their fellow man as they lift up the name of Jesus.

1 Timothy 6:17-19 (New Living Translation)
Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life.

Blessed Brokenness

Blessed Brokenness

In prosperity, I childishly went astray.
You brought my attention to my errant way.
In love, You chastised me.

I was tripped by my own sin, I stumbled.
Your word found me out; I am humbled.
Your word helped me to see.

Your discipline has been heavy to bear.
Your just ruling meted out to me is fair.
Your desire is that I be holy.

I lift my cry unto You; test my contrition.
I will regard your righteous admonition.
From my sin and guilt, set me free.

Forgive, I pray You, my misbehavior.
I am Your son, You are my Savior.
I hope in the nearness of Your tender mercy.

Psalm 34:18 (Amplified Bible)The Lord is close to those who are of a broken heart and saves such as are crushed with sorrow for sin and are humbly and thoroughly penitent.

What Life is Like

Visible but vanishing…
Aromatic and yet evaporating…
Purposeful nevertheless passing…
Oncoming however outgoing…
Rousing as it silences…

James 4:14 (Amp) Yet you do not know [the least thing] about what may happen tomorrow. What is the nature of your life? You are [really] but a wisp of vapor (a puff of smoke, a mist) that is visible for a little while and then disappears [into thin air].

In Christ life does not truly go away, it just gets better!

Revelation 14:13 (Mssg) I heard a voice out of Heaven, "Write this: Blessed are those who die in the Master from now on; how blessed to die that way!" "Yes," says the Spirit, "and blessed rest from their hard, hard work. None of what they've done is wasted; God blesses them for it all in the end."

Sunset

Sunset

Time is marching on.
Another day is almost through.
Did I get everything done,
That I needed to do today?
Lately life has been like a marathon.
A weekend away is long overdue.
All work with very little fun.
Well, I do have obligations to pay.
I have to take tomorrow head-on.
Why did I schedule so much to do?
A jack-of-all-trades is a master of none.
Lord, tomorrow help me make headway.
Hold it, how can I ponder an unseen dawn?
Today’s sunset is so astonishing to view.
Lord, everything You perform is well-done.
Tomorrow can wait, I shall rejoice in the rousing residue of today.

Don’t be so busy distressing about the future that you fail to enjoy today. Enjoy each day God grants you from sunrise to sunset. If tomorrow has your name written in it, it will come soon enough.

Psalm 118:24. This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

LORD I RELEASE ALL THESE THINGS TO YOU

LORD I RELEASE ALL THESE THINGS TO YOU
(Written by Minister Sherry Ivy)

A lot of times we try to hold on to things that God is trying to set us free from. So start releasing every thing that’s going on in your life right now to God so He can set you free. When God set you free you won’t have the desire to do these things again because you will be free indeed. “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” (John 8:36) These are just a few of the many things I’m releasing to God:

Revenge – When people keep doing wrong things to us, our first reaction is to get even. But Jesus said we are to do good to those who wrong us, our desire should not be to get revenge, because the Lord said vengeance is His and He will repay those that wrong us. All He wants us to do is love, forgive and pray for them and He will give us the strength we need to do this. Because repaying evil for evil will hurt us as much as it hurts our enemy. “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.” (Roman12:19)

Thoughts of suicide – Sometimes the enemy will fool you to get things he knows you can’t afford. Then he will cause you to get fired from your job so you can’t draw unemployment with no money coming in your bills will begin to get behind and bill collectors will begin calling you every day putting you under a lot of pressure and threaten to take your processions if you can’t come up with the money before the week is out. Once this happen, the enemy will begin to plant thoughts of committing suicide in your mind. But don’t listen to him, start quoting (Psalm 118:17) “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” And your thoughts of suicide will disappear.

Rejection – Rejection is one of the worse feelings we can have. Jesus suffered many things and was rejected from people He helped. He also suffered rejection from His disciple Judas whom He walked with daily. As children of God, we will suffer many things and will be rejected by people who work beside us everyday on our jobs and by people who sit right beside us in church. “But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.” (Luke 17:25)

Secret faults – Secret faults are sins that we are unaware of. That’s why we should pray asking God to forgive us our sins even our little no harm sins so we will cover all sins because secret faults are faults hidden to ourselves and others but not to God. Sin is sin, even if we are not aware of it. So our confession should always cover hidden sins. God fully and completely forgives us even for those sins we do unknowingly. “Who can understand his errors? Cleanse thou me from secret faults.” (Psalm 19:12)

So be encouraged today and always remember there is nothing to hard for God. “Behold I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?” (Jeremiah 32:27)

His potent word repaired the bond that sin had breached.
As He proclaimed,
He healed those sin had maimed.
As He asserted,
In His hour, His disciples left Him deserted.
As He pronounced,
By His own people, He was renounced.
As He maintained
A shameful scourging He sustained.
As He prophesied,
Out of love on the cross He died.
As He contended,
His mission was not ended.
As He foretold,
The grave would not, could not hold.
As He said,
He rose from the dead.
As He declared,
They, who trust the Gospel, at judgment, shall be spared.

Matthew 28: 5. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. 6. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. 7. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

At Son Rise

At Son Rise

God’s Power demonstrated…
The Gospel was translated…
The truth was validated…
Satan’s power frustrated…
Weak faith recuperated…
God’s enemies irritated…
Darkness dissipated…
Sin’s effect negated…
The dead rejuvenated…
Heaven celebrated…
Praise of angels and men animated…
The Son of God elevated…

Malachi 4 (New Living Translation)1 The Lord of Heaven’s Armies says, “The day of judgment is coming, burning like a furnace. On that day the arrogant and the wicked will be burned up like straw. They will be consumed—roots, branches, and all. 2 “But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture. 3 On the day when I act, you will tread upon the wicked as if they were dust under your feet,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

Treasure Your Own Treasure

Treasure Your Own Treasure

Treasure your own treasure or else you may feel like trash when the treasure that you took for granted, failing to treasure is gone. Be forewarned and persuaded, also, to keep your hands off other people’s treasure or else you will trash other people’s lives, provoking people to trash you, reaping the trash you sowed.

Philippians 1:9-11 (Amplified Bible)
And this I pray: that your love may abound yet more and more and extend to its fullest development in knowledge and all keen insight [that your love may display itself in greater depth of acquaintance and more comprehensive discernment],

So that you may surely learn to sense what is vital, and approve and prize what is excellent and of real value [recognizing the highest and the best, and distinguishing the moral differences], and that you may be untainted and pure and unerring and blameless [so that with hearts sincere and certain and unsullied, you may approach] the day of Christ [not stumbling nor causing others to stumble].

May you abound in and be filled with the fruits of righteousness (of right standing with God and right doing) which come through Jesus Christ (the Anointed One), to the honor and praise of God [that His glory may be both manifested and recognized].

Preachers fall due to bringing dishonor to the God of their call

Preachers fall due to bringing dishonor to the God of their call

Malachi 2 (NLT) “Listen, you priests—this command is for you! 2 Listen to me and make up your minds to honor my name,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “or I will bring a terrible curse against you. I will curse even the blessings you receive. Indeed, I have already cursed them, because you have not taken my warning to heart...5 “The purpose of my covenant with the Levites was to bring life and peace, and that is what I gave them. This required reverence from them, and they greatly revered me and stood in awe of my name. 6 They passed on to the people the truth of the instructions they received from me. They did not lie or cheat; they walked with me, living good and righteous lives, and they turned many from lives of sin. 7 “The words of a priest’s lips should preserve knowledge of God, and people should go to him for instruction, for the priest is the messenger of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. 8 But you priests have left God’s paths. Your instructions have caused many to stumble into sin...9 “So I have made you despised and humiliated in the eyes of all the people. For you have not obeyed me but have shown favoritism in the way you carry out my instructions.”

Pray for all God’s servants to be faithful to Him and bring Him honor before all people.

Be advised that all believers are called to be servants of God. What goes for one servant, goes for all.

“None of self, and all of Thee.”

None of self, and all of Thee

He must increase, but I must decrease. [He must grow more prominent;
I must grow less so.] John 3:30 (Amplified Bible)

Oh, the bitter pain and sorrow
That a time could ever be,
When I proudly said to Jesus,
“All of self, and none of Thee.”
All of self, and none of Thee,
All of self, and none of Thee,
When I proudly said to Jesus,
“All of self, and none of Thee.”

Yet He found me; I beheld Him
Bleeding on th’ accursed tree,
And my wistful heart said faintly,
“Some of self, and some of Thee.”
Some of self, and some of Thee,
Some of self, and some of Thee,
And my wistful heart said faintly,
“Some of self, and some of Thee.”

Day by day His tender mercy,
Healing, helping, full and free,
Brought me lower while I whispered,
“Less of self, and more of Thee.”
Less of self, and more of Thee,
Less of self, and more or Thee,
Brought me lower while I whispered,
“Less of self, and more of Thee.”

Higher than the highest heaven,
Deeper than the deepest sea,
Lord, Thy love at last has conquered:
“None of self, and all of Thee.”
None of self, and all of Thee,
None of self, and all of Thee,
Lord, Thy love at last has conquered:
“None of self, and all of Thee.”

Sprout

Sprout

A tiny sprout found himself set in a daunting wood.
Despite his context, he desired to be all he could.
He gathered that he could grow strong in the light.
Daily, he immersed himself in the sun, gaining might.
His self-discipline stimulated distinctive growth.
His progress inspired him to proclaim an oath.
“God, since You love me, I’ll be all You want me to be.”
By faith in God, the little sprout grew into a treasured tree.
His shade invigorated countless souls who came near.
Let us remember that God holds even small things dear.
Allow me to enlighten and encourage you, my little one.
God cares for those who trust in Jesus, His beloved Son.

Small beginnings can spring into grand finales.
Mustard seed faith in Christ blossoms into eternal life.
Do you know Jesus?

Psalm 92:12-15 (Amplified Bible)
The [uncompromisingly] righteous shall flourish like the palm tree [be long-lived, stately, upright, useful, and fruitful]; they shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon [majestic, stable, durable, and incorruptible]. Planted in the house of the Lord, they shall flourish in the courts of our God. Growing in grace] they shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap [of spiritual vitality] and [rich in the] verdure [of trust, love, and contentment]. [They are living memorials] to show that the Lord is upright and faithful to His promises; He is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

Into His Marvelous Light

Into His Marvelous Light

In the darkness, I was clad from birth.
In the darkness, I had no lasting mirth.
In the darkness, my focus was blurred.
In the darkness, my cry seemed unheard.
In the darkness, my heart feared.
In the darkness, my feet veered.
In the darkness, many tears I shed.
In the darkness, hope was all but dead.
But, then the Light appeared.
Out of darkness, He steered.
In the Light, He dissolved my shame.
In the Light, He changed my name.
In the Light, my salvation arrived.
In the Light, my soul revived.
In the Light, my heart strengthened.
In the Light, my vision lengthened.
In the Light, Truth and Love perfects me.
In the Light, looms my glorious eternal destiny.

1 Peter 2:9-10 (The Message)
But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God's instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.

Stand

Stand

When you find your appropriate spot,
Challengers will dare to knock you off.
Rivals will test you to see what you got,
Taunt, tempt to entrap you with scoff.
Should they be unable to irk your nerve,
Rest assured the struggle is not done.
The blitz will intensify with more verve.
Evil acts may be masked as harmless fun.
The whole intent is to bring you down,
To draw you into their misguided band.
No matter what, don’t you breakdown.
Brace yourself and maintain your stand.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand… Ephesians 6:10-13

At Calvary, Jesus stood in our place to take away our sin that we might be in right standing with God. He is standing at the right hand of the Father making intercession for His people right now. He stood for you. Are you in right standing with Him?

The Value of a Friend

The Value of a Friend

A true friend is precious beyond any doubt.
They gladly take you in, when you’ve been cast out.
Brings you around when your logic is unsound.
Boost your spirit, when burdens weigh you down.
Know something is wrong, when you say all is right.
When you are embattled, they join the fight.
Do not say you’re right when they see you’re wrong.
Yet, try not to hurt you when you’re off-key in song.
They are there to encourage saying, “You can do it!”
They show support saying, “I’ll help you through it.”
A good friend’s value cannot truly be measured.
Let your friends know the bond between you is treasured.

Proverbs 17:17 (Amp) A friend loves at all times, and is born, as is a brother, for adversity.

Proverbs 18: 24. A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Jesus is the best friend you can ever know. He gave His life because He loved you so. He promised to be with those who sincerely love Him wherever and through whatever they must go.
Do you know Him? He desires your friendship.

The Boiling Pot

The Boiling Pot

From melting pot to boiling pot,
The ire within the tribes is burning hot.
Partisan factions prevent vital progress.
As rulers wrestle, the less fortunate regress.
Privileged, power craving men rouse the fray,
Denigrating those who differ with what they say.
Many make their living stirring up discontent,
Using media to dupe and disciple the malcontent.
Even the church is at fault for the present state,
Many confess loving Jesus, while exhibiting hate.
Others desire to live life void of any inhibition,
They rail against all things related to Godly tradition.
Faithless rulers promise to lead to higher dimensions.
Enriching themselves, they retire to their pensions.
The downtrodden seethe for lack of support,
Some see law breaking as their only resort.
Many reels feeling their life has little worth,
They see not a future of hope but one of dearth.

Jeremiah 1: 13. God's Message came again: "So what do you see now?"
I said, "I see a boiling pot, tipped down toward us." (Message Bible)

Man forsakes God; God forsakes man.
Man suffers for he has forsaken God’s plan.
Let us return to God, from Him we began.
Let us not grow faint under the weight of life’s demands.
But, entirely trust God to sustain us by His Almighty hands.

Honey, I need a hug.
Your hugs mend me like a drug,
Lifts me when life hits me like a slug.

Tender, but not too tight.

Your hugs are unmistakable.
Your hugs are irreplaceable.
Let us be to each other forever embraceable.
Hug me, Baby.

How Can I Hold My Peace

How Can I Hold My Peace?

How can I hold my peace?
You have rescued me because of your mercy,
Frustrating my enemy’s plot to frustrate me.

How can I hold my peace?
You granted healing when I had ill health.
You saved me, securing for my soul eternal wealth.

How can I hold my peace?
You favor me to prosper in the works of my hands.
Yet, You fittingly discipline me to obey your commands.

How can I hold my peace?
You hear me when I cry out and wipe away my tears.
Then lovingly bless me, turning my groans into cheers.

How can I hold my peace?
You fill my heart with joy giving me reason to dance.
I shall ever thank You for giving me another chance.

How can I hold my peace?
You set my heart to beat to the rhythm of Your potent word.
Let me not hold my peace until, of Jesus, multitudes have heard.

But if I say, "Forget it!
No more God-Messages from me!"
The words are fire in my belly,
a burning in my bones.
I'm worn out trying to hold it in.
I can't do it any longer!
Jeremiah 20:9 (Message Bible)

Psalm 30:11 (KJV) You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, 12 that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give you thanks forever!

Grace for Growth

While traveling in the company of Christ, there will be those who are around you who despise you. They more so despise the One (Jesus) you represent. Some will be so bold as to incite you to act contrary to the nature of Christ, to trip you, to trap you to shame you. They are unaware that their tactics, in the end, will strengthen you, sharpen your focus on Christ and His will, and thereby make your testimony more powerful. Christ shall fight against them on your behalf and to His glory and He shall put them to flight or they shall fall around your feet, as you stand upright in Him. Evildoers beware of trying to trip God’s children, for you are only ensuring your own demise.

Proverbs 24:15-16 (The Message)

Don't interfere with good people's lives; don't try to get the best of them.No matter how many times you trip them up, God-loyal people don't stay down long;Soon they're up on their feet, while the wicked end up flat on their faces.

The Woman at My Side

The Woman at My Side

Heaven has smiled upon me,
Giving me joy, I cannot hide
It’s because of you, my sweetie,
The woman at my side.

I give honor to you, my love;
With you, I am well satisfied.
Fits me like a hand in a glove,
The woman at my side.

You have hung in there with me,
In trials, we smoothed up the rough side.
You personify tasteful femininity,
The woman at my side.

May our blessed journey continue,
All our hopes and dreams coincide.
With you, my dream for love came true,
The woman at my side.

The Lord has great blessings in store,
May He continue to be our Guide.
May He show me how to love you even more,
The woman at my side.

J’adore, Abbie.

Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. 1 Peter 3:7

He Saw the Best in Me

He Saw the Best in Me

While my errors were exposed,
He understood my vulnerability.
Even as my failures were itemized,
He, yet, looked beyond my liability.
As I groaned under my unworthiness,
He provided mercy for my fragility.
Whilst others divested themselves of me,
At Calvary, He invested in my possibility.
Although sin and shame covered me,
Faith in Him imputed to me respectability.
As the worst of me merited judgment,
He saw me in Him, with Him in eternal tranquility.

He Saw the Best in Me – Himself.

Jesus saves, sanctifies, and satisfies!

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. Ode to LOVE

Ode to LOVE

Love - The highest good
All people should – Love
Love – It brightens the face
An incomparable grace – Love
Love – Heartens the broken
Arouses when fitly spoken - Love
Love – Discernible in one’s deeds
Makes strong men weak-kneed - Love
Love - Sickens the heart when it goes cold
A desire of the young and the old - Love
Love – A precious gift God showered on humanity
Perfectly embodied in the Christ of Christianity - Love

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

Come forth now, O’ Spring.

Come forth now, O’ Spring.

Come forth now, O’ Spring.
We yearn to see you once more.
May we delight in each other, as we did before.

Summer’s fun in the sun has gone.
Fall’s lovely trees are bare to the bone.
The newness of winter has waned.
For desire of you, we are pained.

Come forth now, O’ Spring.
We yearn to see you once more.
May we delight in each other, as we did before.

We await the sight of your green shoots,
To sample your sundry satisfying fruits;
To savor your fragrant bouquet of flowers;
To cavort in your refreshing rain showers.

Come forth now, O’ Spring.
We yearn to see you once more.
May we delight in each other, as we did before.

Your emergence intimates life renewed.
A revival of soul and spirit previously subdued.
Your rich possibilities are well reported of.
To you, the longing look for a birth or rebirth of love.

Come forth now, O’ Spring.
We yearn to see you once more.
May we delight in each other, as we did before.

Do you know Jesus? Through Jesus, perpetual new life springs forth to those who believe on Him as Savior and Lord.

Making Love

Making Love

It is amusing that we, as imperfect a people as we are, believe that we have the right stuff to make or fix that which God created. We believe that we can make love work when much of the time we cannot define nor describe what love is or what love does.

A hurt that is as hell is felt when the sense of love wanes or is lost. When the sense of love wanes, there is tremendous pain. Generally, the bearer of pain seeks a cure by confrontation demanding dialogue, or more shortsightedly immediate transformation. More often than not, emotions are high, thinking before speaking does not occur, and if thinking occurs it is one-sided at best, and what ensues is a bigger mess.

Let us consider the Lord. He loves us. He made the world and then gave it to us as our possession to have dominion over it, under His watchful rule and care. He provided all that we needed. We had unfettered access to Him. It was not enough. We desired more than what He gave. We sinned. We broke the spiritual union between God and ourselves.

What did He do? Did He throw an angry fit? No. Did He call us derogatory names? No. Did He make unreasonable demands? No.

He desired dialogue. But, He did not force it. He desired that the situation be resolved. But, He did not make irrational demands.

He has regard for our human imperfection. He knows we are prone to be distracted and detoured by devilish influences and longings.

Yet, He waits patiently. He keeps His temper. He speaks in a direct, but considerate way. He seeks what is in our best interest by leading us correctly to righteousness, even though we are the offending party. He makes obvious what love is.

I have been hurt by love, but more accurately by my misunderstanding of what love is and does. I focused on how I felt and what I was receiving. I was being selfish. To be selfish is to not be loving. God’s focus is on giving because He is unselfish.

Many times when we say love hurts, we are complaining about what the other party is doing or not doing. By doing this we make as if our love is perfect. But, our complaining reveals that our love is immature, at best.

Love is God’s idea. He made love. He is love. (1 John 4:7) The love that God has for us and which He expects from us is symbolized as charitable or giving. Benevolent affection denotes it. Let no person delude you about love. God is the source of love, the definer of love, and the judge of love. Therefore, seek to understand and practice love from His perspective.

Love is demonstrable and therefore discernible. Since it is demonstrable and discernible, then it behooves us to get a better understanding and to practice love in deed and in truth for our judgment day waits. We will not be afforded the opportunity, when we appear before God, to discuss how others did not love us, but rather to give an account of our love or lack thereof towards God and humanity, even the people who have wronged us.

Paul put it plainly for us- 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (Amplified Bible)
Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. 5It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. 6It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. 7Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. 8Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]….

John tacks on for greater clarity- 1 John 3:18 (Amplified Bible) 18Little children, let us not love [merely] in theory or in speech but in deed and in truth (in practice and in sincerity).

If your love is hurting, check to see if God is there. You don’t know love unless you know the God who designed love. Another can never really love you as God designed without knowing the God who designed love. When you know God, He puts love into your account-it is within you-yet He calls you to grow in love, to mature to a greater understanding and to make way for greater manifestation of love in your life from the purest of motives-simply because God says-so and because His Spirit is within you, leading you. The closer you are to God, the greater the revelation of love will be revealed in your life.

You make love by manifesting love. You make love by manifesting God. When you manifest God, those people who you desire love from can be influenced and transformed by the very love that you show. Then, they will be able to show you the love you seek.

However, you cannot make anyone love you. Neither should you entertain trying to deceive people into loving you nor should you interfere in someone else’s relationship vying for the affection of someone who is committed to someone else. Don’t be the other man or the other woman-you are better than that and you deserve better than that.

Christ desires our love. He has us on His heart and mind. He demonstrated the extensiveness of His love in His life lifting up those who were burdened down meeting their needs and in engaging with people who hated Him trying to turn them around. He, demonstrated the depth of His love through His death, burial, and resurrection. Now, He kindheartedly, uncomplainingly awaits our reply to Him. He is caringly speaking unto us, saying, “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

And when a person truly from the bottom of their heart looks to Calvary to see what Christ has done for them, how can they not love Him?
